It all begins in 2015, in a little shop in the old town, with a single machine and many questions.
Irène and Marc Barrientos, sister and brother, found in Montpellier a smaller, more precise house, an atelier that would do only one thing, but do it well: dressing windows.
Eleven years later, Maison Mayor curtains hang in several hundred homes across the Languedoc and beyond.

Fabric first
We select every fabric for its grain, its feel, the way it holds a pleat. No trendy fabrics, just fabrics that last.
Made in France
100% of our curtains are made in Montpellier and the Occitanie region, by seamstresses we know personally.
Quiet advice
We are not salespeople. We listen, we suggest, and we know how to say when a project is not for us.
The long term
A fine curtain lasts fifteen years. Everything is designed to age well, and to be repaired rather than replaced.
Above the showroom, on the upper floor.
This is where the curtains are cut, hemmed and pleated. Three seamstresses, two industrial machines, and many hands. We make on average 120 pairs of curtains a year.
A place where you take your time.
120 m² on Allée Alberto Giacometti, where over 400 fabrics and our entire collection of blinds and tracks are on show.
A family affair.
Maison Mayor was born of a project between sister and brother, in the wake of their mother, an upholsterer-decorator for forty-two years in Paris for the greatest houses: from the restoration of Napoleon's bedrooms at the Château de Fontainebleau to the Paul Getty Museum. “Her craft became a passion, and along the way she passed on to us the love of fabrics and decoration, as well as rigour and the art of doing things well.”
